There's no straight answer to it, and it can be interpretted many ways. The lyrics tell the story of a man wanting to burn a house down in return for causing someone pain. A lot of people relate this to wars going on currently, or at the time the song was released. A lot of others relate this to be about protecting and defending the woman he loves. I'm a little inbetween.
I do think it reflects a lot upon how we're so eager to fight, however that is because we long to defend our loved ones. I don't interpret this to be necesarily about a woman, as much as someone we love strongly in general.
The song states "I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn, do back the things it did to you in return". I see this as revenge with only the sweetest intentions. The way in which we often feel the necesity to do bad things when bad things are done to a good person. However it is later sung "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for" Which definitely reflects on acting on impulse.
Often, our emotions get in the way of rational thinking. And whilst this line is often said to be about current wars, it's the line i feel speaks most about love. I feel it is as if the beloved being written about is so distressed that the singer is willing to do anything to get payback for that who hurt her. If she says anything, he'll attack; acting on the impulse of love.
The song A Rush Of Blood To The Head is extremely well written, with a really curious tune. If the lyrics weren't already mysterious enough, the tune is rather confusing and mystical. It's one of my all time favs by Coldplay, who is my favourite band. A lot of love songs are unrelateable because youth doesn't really know what its like to be so hard in love. But this song isn't one in which you need to have had a committed relationship to understand. We've all felt feelings of love, revenge, anger, and distress. That's all you really need to draw a connection to the genius words.
That's all I have to say about the song. In my opinion, it speaks of the irrationality and impulsiveness of raw emotions. How humans as a race will do stupid things, but are willing to do them because we get to experience love, and are also willing to put reason aside and "blame it upon a rush of blood to the head". I reccommend you check it out, along with the album by the same title. One of Coldplay's best, though i'm quite a fan of the most recent Mylo Xyloto.
~Sunshine :]

Every teardrop is a waterfall!

I cannot count the amount of times coldplay has helped me through problems.
Not directly, of course. I've never met them, seen them, been to one of their shows, or anywhere near the presence of such a fantastic rock band. But they've still effected me.
So many days i've been tired of whatever goes on in my life and have resorted to laying down on my bed, listening to coldplay and doing absolutely nothing. It's helped every time.
There's a countless number of times when I've just cried and played my favourite songs like The Scientist, Fix You, or Everything's Not Lost and somehow managed to be okay again.
And today, i bought my ticket to go see them live.
I still can't really wrap my head around the fact that i'm seeing my idols, musical inspiration, and all time favourite band in person! During the trip I spent 3 days in New York City. Now, i realize i'm a super fortunate person, for i've visited Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Miami, and even Washington D.C. And whilst i have tons of funny stories to share, there is something that's been on my mind for ages. Where do I belong?
Having visited so many major cities, there should be one i'm attached to, and now that i've visited new york and somewhat completed my major US city tour, i think i have an answer.
Most of my life, i've heard people go on vacation and say they want to live there. For instance, half of my friends want to live in New York, not realizing it's expensive, a very rough community, and there is no major supermarket located within the streets. However, it's provided a fun expereince for them, and after all, why do something if its not fun?
I've pretty much narrowed down the two places that are the best options for me; New York, New York, and Los Angeles, California.
New York, because the entertainment there is obvious. It's got great film schools and Broadway. Broadway is great, but there is still something about the stage that I'm not fond of. I love the concept of intermission, but perhaps its just the fact that the actors are right in front of you making everything so real that just makes it feel...fake. I can't get lost in a play. Though, the bright lights of time square or the 30 Rock building makes me feel strangely at home.
But throughout all of my travels,i've realized one thing. Whilst New York is considered the place where dreams are made of, it's got nothing on L.A.
L.A for me was my first escape. It was this giant city with an overwhelming movie history, beautiful mountains and beaches, and this sort of over the top famous feel. My first trip there was right after my dad died. And whilst that's a topic i usually try to sound professional while talking about, the emotion was very raw. I was a young girl whose dad was dead and never coming back. Los Angeles was a place where all of that was thousands of miles across the country.
Yes, Hollywood is far from a easy place to live. It is also very expensive and to even get your foot in the door of the movie industry is nearly impossible. It can get pretty hot during summer and there's smog when its cold. The traffic is somewhat insane and public transportation is just not preferable for me. But i can't imagine myself anywhere else.
I've tried lying to myself, saying i could live or go to university in New York. Even though this wouldn't be a nightmare, and i'd probably enjoy it, it's not me. It's not who I am.

I visited New York, had a great time, and came back. I visited Los Angeles, had a great time, and have been there ever since.

I left a piece of myself within the movie studios, the beaches, the crappy hotel i stayed at, DisneyLand, and everywhere I went. I may not have the money to attend UCLA in a couple of years when i'm going off to college, and i may have to face my biggest fear; that i may not have the talent to survive in L.A. But I know for a fact that somehow i'm getting back to the city I belong to. \

Lost

Howdy~
Today i finished season 1 of the show LOST, and it was amazing! This, however, isn't a review, but kind of a mash up of what i've learned from it.
Firstly, if you have a headahe, sensitivity to light, and phantom smells, its a brain tumor. The more you know...
Now, onto the actualy lessons. The show is about a plane leaving from Sydney Austrailia to L.A. That plane crashed, leaving only 44 survivors, on an island. Whether or not they want to, the have to become friends, find leaders, and learn to survive together. But the island, isn't regular. A sort of sci-fi creature lives there and there's so much to be discovered, as some wait to survive, and some wait to be rescued.
There are 2 major characters, Locke and Jack, who've taught me a lot of about destiny and science. Jack is a doctor, believing in science, just trying to keep everyone save as they recognize him as a leader. But locke is...different. He believes that they were chosen to get on the island. That out of an entire plane crash, 44 people survived with minimal injuries--it was their destiny. I agree with locke. There are no such thing as coincidences.
But the main thing i've taken away from the show is how many people i'll never meet. The show frequently uses flashbacks on the back stories of main characters and why they were in australia, up to the point where they board the plane. In many scenes, people that would grow to be either best friends or enemies spoke to each other or interacted and thought nothing of it. I mean, of all the plane rides you've been on, think of the people you share it with. You have something in common, obviously. But its weird to think of how you'll never know them. How, in my life, i'm going to pass by millions of people, and never know them. But i believe, just like locke, that the people you do get to meet, whether they're in your life for long or short, are there for a reason.
I'm not trying to push my opinions on anyone, as their just opinions, but what do you think? Have you ever seen lost? have you ever seen a show or movie that really impacted your thoughts, and JJ Abrams completed gem has influenced me?
~Sunshine

Mylo Xyloto

Greetings!
The new album from legendary rock band, Coldplay, dropped yesterday, and of course i bought it premiere day. I kinda had to. in fact, i spent a rather large amount of money buying lots of their albums yesterday. But i felt like writing my opinion on MX here, since this is my creative outlet.
First, i dont really enjoy looking at music as an album because it's very restricted. The Scientist and Everything's Not Lost, are easily some of my fav songs by the band, alongside Paradise, but they were all written at different times during the bands career.
Moving on, i really enjoy Mylo Xyloto. Coldplay is kinda known for switching up their sound each album, and i feel like this one combine all of their sounds, as they proceed onto whatever is next. There are 30 second songs, and acoustic oens like Us Against The World, and title track Mylo Xyloto which are remnence of Parachutes. Then there are things like Every Teardrop is a Waterfall and Paradise, which are commercially succesful and very universal, like Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. Charlie Brown reminds me of X&Y, and so on.
There are a few tracks i haven't really gotten a good feel for, but MX is a really great album, and if you want new music for your ipod, buy it!!
I know i talk about coldplay in nearly every post, but the past few months have been really good for them. One thing i've aways admired is how Chris Martin can be one of the biggest rock stars of today, Gwyneth Paltrow a famous Oscar actress, and yet they are never in the papers. Martin is recognized for his music, Paltrow for her acting, and they can have a very private life. Not to say they dont get paparazzi now and then, but they seem very relateable.

So Black Sheep, an album by Nat/Alex Wolff came out early this month, Mylo Xyloto dropped yesterday, and today we welcome David Choi's new CD. october has been a very great music month for me :]
~Sun

I'm Living The Good Life

Greetings!
I listened to a song i hadn't heard by Chester See the other day called Im Living The Good Life, and it really...inspired me.
Try your best to keep things cool/With everything going wrong that's hard to do/The list goes on and on and on
A lot of the words really made me realize how shallow my friends and I can be, however i'm not going to blame my friends or anyone else, i need to be the one to change. As coldplay once said "i can only blame myself, you can only blame me"i realize one of the things i want to get better at is taking blame for things i've done. I'm not really the type to purposefully blame someone else, but i should be able to take full responsibility of anything i do.
When life throws you down/Put a little smile on your face/Life's not all rainy days/It ain't really that bad
I also need to not overreact and stress out over everything. Honestly, i've realized i sometimes put Too much focus on things like schoolwork. Before i take a test, i have these little anxiety attacks where i can't stop shaking, and i've tried everything to calm myself down but nothing works. I think it's because im too wrapped up in grades and competition. I want to always do My best, and eliminate the negative energy of those who try and seem better than me and put me down.
Wash your troubles away/Take a little moment to say/I'm living the good life
I want to learn to just have fun and be creative. I've talked about putting more of myself into everything I do, but that's far easier said than done, since i dont really even know who i am, and thats okay. I've got time to figure things out, but as much i push myself academically, i need to start pushing myself creatively. I have this passion for music that i want to do something with.

Even at your low, someone wishes they were you/And would trade places in a heartbeat/To taste the life you do/So when you feel like life's too hard/You feel like giving up/Think of everything and everyone that says you're the lucky one.
Lastly, i want to be more grateful. Even if i may have the crappiest, frizziest hair, and a really awkward lack of charisma, i'm lucky to live such a good life.
So i encourage everyone to name a few things they want to work on. And then actually go out and do it. Someone once told me We must leave the world better than we found it. But i'm not going to go in to a review about, i want to write about what a lot of the things it said means.
It takes place in the 60s, which isn't too long ago. However, the whole lifestyle is different. Flying in an airplane back then was a luxury. You wouldn't show up in sweats with a battered harry potter book or a lap top for entertainment. You went to the airport in your best clothes, expecting to order champaigne and talk about rich people issues.
I always look at the past as a sense of longing. Time travel has always fascinated me, but i've never really been interested in going to the future. The future will come whether we want it to or not, but the past is already gone. And while my generation is fortunate enough to live in a time of iPods and fast growing technology, we'll never experience how care-free the past was. We'll never have the extreme glamour of just going to an airport, or going out onto the streets on our own and not having to watch so carefully.
To me, the times in which i've never lived always hold a sense of nostalgia. That being said, it probably contributes to the reason i really enjoyed watching the pilot and look forward to the rest of the season. I really hope it stays on the air.
John Green said in one of his novels "Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia" and i couldn't agree more. But the past in which we never lived in a kind of nostalgia, too. We'll never know either of them for sure. We're eternally in the present; and for that we must be grateful.
~Sunshine

Hatred of Libraries

Greetings friends.
Today i come with a short story on my hatred of libraries.
Now, there's this book i read way back about 4 or 5 years ago called The Dark is Rising. i still talk about this book on a weekly basis today, even though i've never reread it and barely remember the plot. Why? Because it sucked. It was, without a doubt, the worst book i've ever read. The plot was actually "light vs dark" about these old guys called Old Ones and this knightish person called the Dark Rider, fighting forces of light and dark. Sounds kinda cool, really sucked.
There's a lot to poke fun of in the book, but that's not the full reason i talk about it. It also ruined my life. Well, not my whole life, but just libraries.
I checked out the next book in the series with a friend one time, we got our books mixed up, and the library charged like 20 dollars to my account because i turned it in late. Now, i know this isn't really their fault. But there's more.
I decided to check out another book in the series from my school library. I couldn't finish it, or even start in, by the due date, so a friend turned it in for me. Last week of school, the school calls me to say i didn't turn it in. OIDHJFSKLHFAKJSD. It.was.on.the.freaking.shelf. Uhg.
Before you say something, i know i should project this hate towards the dark is rising, and not libraries, but i never really liked libraries to begin with, and this just topped it off.
Rant over.
Do you have anything you really hate that's kind of an interesting story?? I also hate oranges, but that gets a whoolleee other post sometime.
~Sun

You sicken me, sickness.

Hello~
So im sure none of you remember that a while ago before i redid my blog for the 4830943 time, i posted about this epic skill some people have called pre sickness. I posses it, but it still sucks.
Basically, some people are fine one day and then the next they're sick and gross and meh. However, others, such as myself, have this little vibe where its like "gurl you gonna be sick" and you start to feel yourself get worse and worse. That's me. Except pre-sickness always mocks me. I get it whenever it's least wanted in my life. We're like an unstable relationship. After i get healthy (aka recover from the bad breakup) i get a few months of happyness and them BAM. It returns (like drunk dialing me from his exgirlfriends party)
For instance, today it came, and i have my first math test of the year tomorrow. I also felt dreadful in showchoir in which i had to learn my part (i sing alto) and could barely sing without sounding like i was underwater. Along with that abundance of suck, i had to take a writing test today. I'm pretty sure i got about... a 2%. Woot.
Does anyone else experience this pre-sickness? The only way i can describe it is as if you get a slight head-cold, its painful to keep your eyes open, and then you just know that unless a nighttime cold pill makes its way into your system, you're done for the next 3-ish days.
Being sick sucks. But at least if i have to miss school, i have the Titanic dvd to entertain me. I can quote about 1/3 of the movie. *brushes cool person dust off shoulder*
~Sun

you got heart and soul you can rock n roll

Greetings my friends!
So lately i've realized that almost nothing i've done has had any of my personality in it. Allow me to elaborate; nothing i've written, said, sang, played, etc has had any me in it. I've just kinda been happily floating along, somewhat lost. I really hate that. I almost feel like it's better to have bad days if you're positive of who you are on them. A favourite quote of mine is from a song i love which says "just because i'm losing, doesn't mean i'm lost". I dont think anything i've heard could be more true.
I'm one of those people that is defined by something that isn't them. Some people are recognized for having great hair, or dancing really well, or being really smart and so on. I'm unfortunately recognized for loving Harry Potter. While i'm not ashamed of being a potterhead, it kinda sucks when you're known as the harry potter girl. I mean, without that series, who would i be known as? That's why i'm making it my goal to find out who i really am. Now i've got a decent idea; i want to be a director, i'd like to be a composer but i dont think i'm good enough at it, i like make up art, quoting movies is kind of my thing, i sing and i think piano is the most amazing instrument. However, i think its about time to really discover who i am. I'm rather ambitious and passionate, and from now on i plan to put more of than into everything i do. So, long story short, prepare for more of my ranty or emotional or those "i really love coldplay" posts and no more pointless rambles about the jonas brothers TV show because i'm going to really find myself.I may post some poetry or talk about songs i write or things i draw and all that. I never post about my day-to-day life, which is something i'm looking forward to doing. And i encourage anyone who might be the slightest bit lost to do the same! Not necesarily by blogging about your passions, but just try and find yourself.
"You may be a big fish in a little pond, doesn't mean you've won, because along my come a bigger one"
~Sunshine :]

That awkward poet kid

Greetings, friends!
So, poetry. Its one of those things a lot of kids hate and a lot of kids love. There's really no medium for poetry. However, I happen to be one of those kids that love it.
I think the main reason poetry can be so hated is because schools teach it the same way they teach those crappy novels you're forced to read. You have to analyze and evaluate and put something into words that really goes without being spoken.
I find it hard to believe that the author of a poem wanted people to research their poem and figure out their meaning. What i love about poetry is that its up to interpretation.
This is why i tend to read poetry on my own, because i'm allowed to let my mind and creativity run free. I also write a lot of poetry. If anyone out there is a muscian, or artist, or writer you kind of get what i mean when i say sometimes you'll have a sudden creative spark and you just need to make something. Most of the time, i learn or write something on piano, but today was one of those days where i did some poetry.
So what is your creative outlet(s)?
~Sunn

Everythings Not Lost (a more emotional post about music)

Greetings, Friends! I'm trying to redo my blog a bit(yes probably Another redecoration) I want to stop posting useless stuff no one cares, and more about things that are important to me and more touching. whilst not everything is going to be about my struggles and hardships, im gonna try to make each post mean something to me. So without further ado, my post about how simple lyrics and melodies have changed me for the better:So, today i was listening to a favorite song of mine titled Everythings Not Lost, and the lyrics were so universal. Now, i'm just a young teenage female sitting in my bedroom checking twitter updates and trying to keep in touch with old friends i really miss. But this song related to me so strongly. The opening lyrics : "When I counted up my demons, saw there was one for every day, with the good ones on my shoulders, i drove the other ones away" Not only is this musical gold, but its something I feel most everyone can relate to. I certainly can. As someone thats faced a lot of hardships at a young age, its easy to get lost in negative energy and hard to remember there is a positive force. A greater power. Another line is "When you thought that it was over
You could feel it all around
And everybody's out to get you
Don't you let it drag you down
'Cos if you ever feel neglected
And if you think that all is lost
I'll be counting up my demons, yeah
Hoping everything's not lost"
This really made me think. Now, in case you dont know, this song is by the fabulous Coldplay, my favorite band. And Coldplay is anything but unknown. They're a super famous band with a huge and growing fanbase all over the world. And as I sat at my desk on my laptop checking twitter and trying to control relationships that may be drifting away, i wondered, How many other people sat at their desks and listened to this song and felt the same thing (hoping everythings not lost with friendships or hope for friends). I wondered, how many other people sat at their desks and felt something totally different, but equally strong. I wondered, how many other people weren't sitting at a desk at at all, and still felt overwhelmed with how deep this song is and how it relates to them.
Now, though i truly wish to be huge in the entertainment industry when I'm older, i may never meet Coldplay. If i do, they probably won't remember who i am a few years past. They dont know me, the girl who sits at her desk, they dont know the other people at their desks, and they dont know all the people not at desks at all, yet the music has helped us more than they could ever imagine.
I wondered, how much has music, Colplay or not Coldplay, how long has music, from Big Band music all the way to maroon5, and how does music help us all?
Its not something i can truly explain. The lyrics to so many songs remind me of experiences or choices or characteristics i may find familiar. And quite often its the melodies or actual instruments i find more relateable than any spoken words. And then i realized, whether you know the language its sung in or not, if you listen to something like My Heart Will Go On, it still pulls that sad and hopeful emotion from you. Most songs on piano speak louder than screamo music, and they have no words.
And that is how music has helped us. I've cried listening to lyrics, I've felt extreme joy playing songs on the piano, I've been angry, hurt, happy, and confused and there's always a tune i can turn to. Since i've started listening and playing music with true heart and soul, i feel like a much better me, as drastic as that sounds. That is what music has always been, since we discovered it, and until we no longer exist to hear it.
"My head just aches when i think of, the things that i shouldn't have done, but life is for living we all know, and i don't want to live it alone." ~Coldplay
~Sunshine

My deep affection for Coldplay

Greetings!!
So today i just wanna talk about Coldplay.
They're a band that i've gotten into more recently, but have totally changed me. I feel like i've heard there songs forever when in reality its only been a few months of my obsession. Now I'm going to talk about them in comparison to another favorite band of mine, Maroon 5.
Maroon 5 is amazing. But they're not the better band. Of course, their tunes are catchy, and if you ask me which i will blast at a party or with friends, Maroon 5 is the obvious answer. Their lyrics are relate-able and pretty much tell the same story. Theyre always about girls, sex, and falling in or out of love. This isn't bad, but because I, along with a lot of people, dont have much experience in those areas, i personally can't relate to what they're saying, and have to lose myself to the actual music and not words.
Where as Coldplay has slower songs, most aren't top 10 on iTunes material, but the lyrics. The lyrics are beautiful. I love how in each song, i can relate in more than 1 way. For instance, my fav coldplay song, and favorite song of all at the moment, The Scientist. This can be a love song, a song about life, a song about struggles or losing some one. Ie, some lyrics are"nobody said it was easy its such a shame for us to part, nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard, i'm going back to the start"
Another favorite of mine is Fix You. I relate to it in more than one way. It reminds me of personal struggles, issues with loved ones, my late father, my view on things. Coldplay lyrics are often a bit confusing because their so specific and vague at the same time. "lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones and i will try to fix you"
I love how coldplay is able to have perfect lyrics and a great sound. Its very instrumental. The raw sound of piano and guitar along with Chris's vocals make their way into every song, along with a signature Coldplay echo-y sound.
Now, the band released a new song recently. Its called Every teardrop is a waterfall. The opening lyric is "i turn the music up, i got my records on" and i was thinking "damn. please dont let this be one of those 'I love music screw haters im cool" when i first heard it. But then, it revealed itself to be so much more. Not only do i relate it to be about various struggles, but there is one bit of genius in it. "I'd rather be a comma than a full stop"
I think we'd all rather be commas than full stops.
~Sunshine

It All Ends Here

Hey there!
Summer is a slow blogging time for me, but as i watched elecetricfaeriedust's new youtube video on her harry potter experience,it actually hit me. Only 20 days left before its over. So i decided i would blog about my harry potter experience.
So, as with any nerd, harry potter has been a huge part of my life. There are so many things i could say about it. It's given me hope, a ton of new friends, and made me a better person. Harry's been an excellent role model, and i'd like to think being sorted into Gryffindor made me more adventurous and daring. But i'm going to share a little story.
When i first got heavily into harry potter (past the "i just read and watch it and into the this is my freaking life), i still made computer graphics (something i haven't done in ages) so i was on the leaky cauldron alot. (this hp fansite with a great gallery) So one day i found myself looking at one of the google ads in the corner. It was this video called "Accio Deathly Hallows-A Song About Harry Potter" posted by this funny looking blond guy. I dont know what possessed me to click it, i normally wouldn't, but i did. I'm so glad I did.
He started talking to this guy named John (John would later be revealed as author John Green, who has become my 2nd fav, next to JKR of course) and eventually started singing. I fell in love with his song. it was witty and catchy. I immediately started watching all of his videos, then all of his brother's videos, and i was hooked. my first real youtube obsession was with the brotherly duo "vlogbrothers". From there i branched out. They talked about fiveawesomeguys who talked about fiveawesomegirls. Both channels mainly revolving around love of harry potter. From there i really branched out into channels like whatthebuck, lukeconard, livelavalive etc.
Then an announcement was made. the vlogbrothers were holding a convention called VidCon2010 in los angeles. My father had just passed away and i really needed an epic vacation. So i grabbed my best friend and my mom took us to L.A for two weeks!
We saw the grauman's theater, hollywood walk of fame, the sign, kodak theater, warner brothers studios (which had an amazing harry potter museum) paramount studios. (I was introduced to the world of classic cinema and music.) And from there went to Las Vegas for a week! I met new family members and walked the strip and saw the grand canyon.
That vacation really changed me. I learned alot about myself and it got me thinking about my future in L.A as a director.
That movie/music bug i left L.A with has inspired me to make a short film, practice makeup art for film, and even go further into piano. I've written a song and have filming dates in July! I also did my sisters makeup for her senior pictures.
You may be wondering how we go to this point of my "little" story. But remember, it all started with that little video advert on that harry potter fansite.
This has probably been my longest post, so I'm gonna wrap it up now. Thank you J.K Rowling for creating a world of new experiences for a boy wizard, which opened up a world of new experiences for a lost little girl.
I'll always be waiting for my Hogwarts letter, no matter how much people make fun of me, and I'll always be apart of the fandom. It's scary to think that i wont have a new Harry Potter movie to look forward to, but all good things must come to an end.
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” -Albus Dumbledore
Harry Potter became real a long time ago.
~Sunshine

I miss my piano

Hello there!
I've been redoing my room. But the process is slow. See, before it was green and purple and loud with posters and messy, but im making it more chill now. However i have to scrape paint, prime, paint, reorganize, and that means that i have to have most of my items lost in this giant mess on my desk, or outside of my room. My Piano, Will Stanton Albus Alastar Adrian, currently resides outside the bedroom.
Nowm i taught myself to play piano, which is code for I'm really good if i were like 7 years old...maybe 9 or 10. The thing is I have to practice everyday to improve my skills or every few days to maintain them and I haven't played in weeks :[
Not to mention, since Will is in my mom's room, she's done nothing to clean him or take care of him, and even though he's a cheapy keyboard, i adore him.
So basically, I practiced a good week to learn the majority of the left hand parts to "He's a pirate", and now i cant remember sh*t. Yay.
The only song I 100% clearly remember and play decent is My Heart Will Go On. Which, in comparison to people taught, kinda stinks.

So i come to you with a question. I have a guitar, i was going to learn with my mom, but things got complicated and that never happened, and i wasn't offered a teacher, so i dont know how to play. But i have all summer to learn. So i'm stuck.
My choices of summer entertainment are either
A) Improve my piano skills (aka actually watch lessons online and buy books)
or B) Teach myself guitar. Buy books and videos and teach myself a new instrument/focus and return to piano when the school year comes around, since it's something i will already know basics of.
I'm pretty chill with either, but im sort of leaning towards guitar. What would you all do?
~Sunshine

Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs

Haaay girlfraand.
So, i've watched and heard a lot of new things lately so I thought i might do a little review and ask for opinions if you've seen any of the same things.
In movies i saw black swan. The score was amazing! In fact, so good it kinda took away from the actual storyline if you're a music loser like I am. Anyway, it was unnecessarily sexual and sometimes got dragged out, but i liked it. Definitely an oscar movie, but I'm glad the King's Speech won because I thought it to be better. But black swan was totally worth it if you're not easily disturbed by mental illness and sexuality.
MUSIC TIME!!
I went to a friend of mine's house on saturday and she had the new Glee cd "Glee: The Music Presents The Warblers" fancy title. Anyway we listened to it all day, in the car, singing it at our town center, etc. It's probably going to be the best of the glee cd's because the warblers are the best singers. And even though the title might as well be "Glee presents darren criss and occasionally chris colfer in some parts" i still love it because his voice is stunning.
OTHER MUSIC TIME
I got "Wonders of the Younger"!!!!! Thats the new plain white t's album. I already knew it was fantastic because i've been listening to it on youtube for about a month now, but its nice to have the physical copy. I hadn't heard the title song yet and it's really nice. The PWT have always been an inspiration to me. Their music is really acoustic and raw. Since i'm a mellow person and the only pop i like is Madonna, MJ, and Miley, i really love their sounds.
So, PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE EVERYBODY STAND UP THIS IS OUR IRRATIONAL ANTHEM!!
~sunshien

Don't go for second best baby, put your love to the test!

Hello friends!
I've got a Madonna song stuck in my head. #ohyeah
So I've been busy lately, which excited me. I love being busy because it makes me feel like I have a life!
Anyway, I'm redoing my room, again. I redo my room like i redo my blog. Too often than necessary. But it has got me thinking about attachments to personal space. I mean, if you think about the room you had when you were kid, let's hope it brings back fond memories. But are we attached to the decor, the walls, or the people and toys that went in and out of the room.
I don't believe its the decor, because u can move, repaint ur walls, and hang up posters to make a new room exactly the same as an old one and it still isn't. There's a void. Which leads the theory to being the walls.
But i disagree with that too. The walls are just structures. Some of them aren't even as sturdy as you'd expect them to be. They can be repainted, and knocked down, and they can be covered and replaced. Memories can't be. So this lead me to the answer.
A lot of people get emotional about moving or change. But it's not the geography that's scary. Moving from point a to point be is a matter of math. The scary part is leaving your friends and/or family. When you've known the same people forever, they tend to know everything about you. You don't have to open up because they'll already know what's going on. But if you're in a room of strangers, you have to introduce yourself, which requires a good sense of self confidence, something we often lack.
Anyway, as i stare at the scraped walls of my room and the wooden floors and the lack of posters, i realize that it's no different than it was when it was hot pink and there were two beds in here. It's these changes that are going to prepare us for the real ones that are frightening.
~Sunshine

We all wanna change the world.....and time!

Greetings ya'll!
Happy mothers day! tho im pretty sure no mothers read this blog...not even my mom.
Anyway I've got a new obsession. shocker, right? Well, it's not really new. I've always loved old movies, but i've really been getting into the classics lately. The most recent I've been watching is...dundundun.... BACK TO THE FUTURE!!
okay, so Titanic will always hold a special spot in my heart but back to the future might very well be one of my favorite all time movies right now. It's just so smart and witty and perfect! Part 2 is good, and i haven't seen part 3, but the original is the best.
One reason is the fact that it's a really good quote movie. For practically any situation there is a BTTF quote. "Hey you. get your damn hands off her" "You are my density...i mean destiny" "Lou, get me a milk. Chocolate!" "Flux capacitor..fluxxing"
So maybe you can't use the last one in many situations, but it's still really cool.
I saw all of the Jaws movies in one day as i've told you. And my next mission is to watch the Jurassic Park sequels.

But i have a shameful nerdy confession to make...I don't remember STAR WARS. I know. I know. But I watched them a reaalllyy long time ago. PLUS, I've never seen all the lord of the rings movies. only like part of the first one which i don't remember. I'm going to have a very busy summer.

So down to the deep and more heartfelt reasons i love old films are because they leave something behind. If the Wizard of Oz was a play, no one would remember how epic the performances were and we wouldn't be able to share them with the world. Plus, this sounds odd, but you know that little bit of blur the old cameras had when filming, and how you can't hear the sound perfectly, I LOVE that. It holds a timelessness. Like even though this movie is old and doesn't have Taylor Lautner's abs, it's still amazing. To me, the blurs in old cinema represent assurance that its good. Plots were more original then, and Hollywood was still expanding, getting ready to blow up and leave us with these crappy romantic comedies and supposed "Action adventure" (Jennifer Anniston, if you're reading this, just top. K?)
The real reason i wanna be a director is not just because of my passion for film, but because i want to reinvent cinema. I want to bring Hollywood back to the days of Jaws and Back to the Future. I look up to Spielberg because he totally changed film forever. That's what I want to do. Get rid of awful movies like The Other Guys and The Bounty Hunter (yeah i saw those. really bad) and bring back original scripts, music, stories, bring back the prestige of being a Movie Star, and make motion pictures magical again.
(plus, i find Marty McFly attractive.)
Fairwinds for now
~Sunshine

E.C Extra Curricular

Greetings...mehh
So i've been writing a resume for something for school, and it has been brought to my attention now more than ever that I've never been in any clubs. ever.
I was in girl scouts for liek 2 years when i was younger, but our troop got so small that there were only about 3 girls in it, so anyone who wanted to continue had to transfer, and I didn't. So there ended my girlscoutedness.
Now i've done nothing. I taught myself to play piano, i make videos on my own, even this blog is something I do to entertain myself. WHY AM I SO LONELY?
I have nothing to write other than about 3 recent academic awards. So it's either turn in a few inches of paper, or lie. Tough choice.
If anyone wants to add me to a blogging club or give me a blogging award I'd totally accept and not drown myself with a rubber ducky on a pirate ship in the bathtub.
I think...i'm gonna copy my sister's resume. We're practically the same anyway, right?

I haven't been blogging a lot lately, which is something i'm sad about because it's practically the only thing i've ever been committed to and me and my blog have broken up a few times along the way. But i'm going to try and get myself to write more on here. Long time no blog.
So today i performed a science experiments with two of my friends in which we experimented polyphasic sleep. This is the act of sleeping in small periods throughout the day isntead of all at once at night. We used the uberman schedule, so we slept 30 minutes every 3 and a half hours.
Originally,we planned to write songs, sing karaoke, go to the park, be active, but instead we ended up watching 5 movies. oh yeah. exhaustion.
The experiment wasn't too bad for most of the time. Its hard to fall asleep in such a short amount of time, so some naps were just us laying down. But for the most part, it wasn't too bad...until
2 am came around. We had to wake up at 2:30 am and stay awake until 6am. It sounds okay until you realize there is NOTHING to do at those times. We were tired and grumpy and hungry and bored. We played truth or dare for 3 hours! I ate cheese and sugar at one point. Dont ever do that.
But all in all, its a really fun experiment to do with a small group. We went from 6pm to 6pm, but i would try doing it earlier, because the 6pm nap was pointless.
Anyway it's not too difficult apart from the brutal early morning hours of boredom. Just plan out a reasonable activity list prior. (That means NO improv song writing at 3 am, or jogging in the afternoon)
Ta ta for now
-Sunshine
PS. i saw this movie called Titanic II. dont watch it. it's awful. i warned you. but in case youre curious, you can stream it on netflix.

I think i love you more than the japanese love tenticle porn (a post about stereotypes)

Greetings programs
Today i come to talk to you about stereotypes, hence the reference to Ray William Johnson's "The stereotypes song" in the title.
So stereotypes and racism/ prejudice are often confused, but in the end, aren't they all the same thing? Stereotypes are something we create because we refuse to realize that everyone is different. It's probably because getting to know everyone you ever see would be hard, and its much easier to look at someone and judge them based on a stereotype.
I'm not saying stereotypes are good or bad, but they are curious. Like how people can outwardly say and believe that Random Black Guy #2 likes fried chicken or that Random Colombian #7 does coke. Which leads me to my next point, is it bad to judge people on what you see?
The obvious answer is yes, but allow me to investigate that. Some people have had awful experiences with many of one race, relgion, etc and i can see their point. Even though you cannot be racist or prejudice, you can take in to account the stereotype you may have had experience with. I don't think this is good or even progressive, but I can see where these people come from.
So my question is Do you think stereotypes are bad?? Do you think we have a reason to have them?
My opinion is that they are not good, but i understand how they are formed. Some are in a more joking manner sensitive people fail to understand, and some are cruel. But in the end, stereotypes are a man made product we're all a little bit responsible for.

TITANIC FACT: "Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater are fictional characters. Their story on board the ship was 100 percent made up, though some people don't know that. However, there was a real passenger under the name J. Dawson on board titanic, his story is totally different."

Who said I can't be superman? (a post aboutambition)

Greetings.
Now I wouldn't consider this post a very emotional heart felt post like I've written before, but its definitely not like my post on my opinion of the Jonas Brothers. So read on with that input.
My day today has been pretty good. I've been lounging out for most of it. But I overheard either my mom or sister saying they were excited for this next quarter and I sort of froze.
It was at this moment that I realized I don't even know what quarter of school I'm in, i think the third. And its not over yet. This saddened me deeply. Mainly because I'm a rather negative person. It's something I'm working on, but it wont happen over night. I always start the new quarter or the new semester or the new school year being optimistic, but it always fails me. I really hate school.
Now it's not because I'm bullied or I go to a ghetto school where I secretly carry a gun in my backpack (don't tell anyone) but its because I have a little bit too much ambition.
Whenever I start a project I plan to be the very best. Where I live, i can't get involved in film. If not because of the lack of industry then because of how it thoroughly depresses me in the sense that I've spent so much time here and accomplished 0. So i figure that overachieving in everything else I do will make up for it. Oh lies.
So right now is one of those moments where even going to the Pajama Jeans website and watching the promo vid can't cheer me up. I'm sad.
Where I live there is no culture. It's sort of a paper town (if you've read john green's book Paper Towns). Over half of the kids I know don't know what they want to do with their lives, or aren't serious about it. I understand that we still have many years to figure it out, but I'm one of the kids that already has figured it out, and has nothing to do with bottled up ambition. grahhh.
In a perfect world, I can contact my friends and we can write scripts and sing about it and make movies and be awesome, but in reality, there is only one place to make motion pictures. Hollywood; on the other side of the country over 2 thousand miles away.
Now, i'm not depressed or anything. But when it will be physically impossible to pack up my bags and head for the west coast for several years, this sad ambitious feeling will be something I'll experience a lot.
I'm gonna go to the Pajama Jeans website again and try to cheer up.
it only worked a little.
~Sun
PS: Do you think having too much ambition is a good thing? Is there such thing as too much ambition? I don't think so, but im starting to think im wrong.
PPS: Margaret "Molly" Brown is famously known as a survivor of the titanic tragedy. Even though a big musical called The Unsinkable Molly Brown was produced about her, no one called her Molly. They called her Maggie.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://polishedwithdust.blogspot.com/2011/03/who-said-i-cant-be-superman-post.html' title='Who said I can't be superman? And I'm quite pleased about the fact that I get one week away from school. But that's besides the point
Anyway, I dont listen to mainstream music but practically fill up my ipod with movie scores because they're fantastic. So, I would like opinions on what you think the best music score is, and I'm going to share my top ten (tell me urs! i need new scores)
10. Indiana Jones Theme. It fit's his personality, his missions, and has nearly become the movie. It's one of those songs you'll get stuck in your head for a month.
9. Jurassic Park Theme. It's funny how the magic and mystery of dinosaurs can be explain with no words in a matter of minutes, but this does it.
8. You've Got A Friend In Me- Toy Story. I remember my toys being my best friends when I was little, and if you don't tear up or feel nostalgia just a little when you hear this tune, you're inhuman.
7. Enterprising Young Men- Star Trek 2009. I love this song. It's just plain fun, but also feels like outer space without being all techno. It doesn't have too many orchestra instruments like classic space movie scores, but still feels like star trek.
6. The Imperial March- Star Wars. IF this song didn't play whenever Darth Vader walked in the movie would be half as good. Just sayin'.
5. Over The Rainbow- The Wizard of Oz. This song is almost eerily good for being so old. It makes me want to go to Oz and on an epic journey. Its one of those songs we'll never forget.
4. He's A Pirate and At Wit's End- Pirates of the Caribbean. There are some scores that dont reflect a character or scene, but the movie as a whole, and these two songs are it. He's A Pirate has got to be one of the catchiest tune in the world and At Wit's End brings out the emotional side to being a pirate. They transport you to the pirate ships and the time period.
3. Time-Inception. Enough said. The entire score should have won an oscar, but this song is magnificent. You can really feel the pain, conflict, and pressure of the movie just by listening to Time. It's also stunning, original, and one of Hans Zimmer's best.
2. Harry's Wondrous World- Harry Potter. This is one of the songs that plays throughout the day at the theme park for harry potter, and I know why. Sure, Hedwig's flight is memorable and a signature, but when you listen to HWW, you cant help but really feel the magic of the books come to life. It shows that the wizarding world isn't just a place of war, but a place of wonder.
1. My Heart Will go On/Hymn To the Sea/The portrait- titanic. (they all combine to make one song at times) OKay, don't call me biased because Titanic is my favorite film, but this song really is Titanic. When you hear it on piano, it's super emotional. But without using the word Titanic once, it gets across the point of the film, the events of the film, and just makes it complete. Definitely the best score of all time.
What do you think?
~Sun
Titanic Fact of the Day: William T. Stead, a writer, wrote an story about a ship from the White Star Line rescuing people from another ship that crashed into an iceberg, and a story about a ship disaster as a result of a lack of life boats. These were written 14 and 10 years before Titanic, a white star line ship set sail. He was a passenger on board Titanic, and died with the ship. He showed no sign of predicting his death

We got the words if you got the melody (a post about my guilty pleasures)

greetings.
So one thing i'm quite proud to admit is my guilty pleasure. I really like the Jonas Brothers. And before you go making fun of me, pull out your ipod. Scroll through your artists list. Is that Ke$ha I see? tsk tsk.
So the reason I like the Jonas Brothers is because their songs are good without having to use curse words ever other sentence, and the beats are catchy. Plus, no auto-tune or rap! What more can you ask for these days?
However I must say that my favorite band is the Plain White T's, for the same reasons. But here's the thing about the Jonas brothers I dont understand: the hate towards them.
They are pretty good singers(shut up. they're not terrible), and the play instruments. I think people hate them just to hate them. The same reason people hate twilight. The public likes to be unique and stand out even if it means being an idiot. So, the same way once Twilight got fangirls, old fans stopped liking it, people that have nothing against the JB hate them because its "different." For instance, once I asked one of my more rude friends (who is actually a quite a boosh and I don't really know why i talk to them) why they hated the Jonas Brothers to which they responded "Because they're stupid." Now, neither of us have met the brothers so they can't make that statement. Plus, they've all completed public school and play multiple instruments. So really, where does "stupid" come from?
Now, I understand hating britney spears or lindsay lohan for this reason, but seriously? Don't make claims you can't backup. Instead they should have said "I don't like their music" but i realize i'm asking a lot from a middle schooler. uhg.
So i'm gonna go sing to my Naked Brothers Band posters, pretend the Zac Efron on my HSM poster is my boyfriend, and dress up while talking to my harry potter poster about D.A.D.A.
Peace.
~Sun
PS: The question is: who is your favorite jonas brother?? JK, i know most of you hate them because you don't like their music, which I'm cool with. THE REAL QUESTION IS: who is your favorite band? and why?

When I see you cry, it makes me smile (a post about the oscars and more)

So the 2011 oscars have been getting a lot of bad reviews, which I don't agree with. I love James Franco and Anne Hathaway as actors, both are my favorites, so i suppose i might be biased, but i thought they were good. Not great, but surely not that bad. They're being called the Worst Oscar Hosts Ever. Not true. The people saying this are all old guys that probably aren't interested in experimenting with new hosting techniques. Anne Hathaway as adorable, and even though James Franco looked so high, he was hot. That's all that matters.
Now, I don't know what it's like to host the oscars, but it seems pretty hard. At least they were having fun.
The only way I'd want to get up on that big, pretty stage is if I were accepting an award in which my speech would be "thank you. goodbye" because I wanna keep it short. But since you all know I want to be a blockbuster millionaire film maker (a million dollars isn't cool, ya know what's cool? a billion dollars.) And by millionaire i mean I want my films to gross that much money,I don't really care what I earn. So my dream oscar presentation would be to accept the Best Director award presented by Steven Spielberg in which he says I'm a greater director than he can ever hope to be, bows in my honor, and makes a documentary about my exciting life of antisocial awkwardness and big nose. You would all totally see it, don't lie to me.
Anyway, true story: Once when I was probably about 10 one of my crazy and horribly evil family members I do not speak to any more asked me what I wanted to be. To this I replied "I want to be a movie director." she/he laughed and said"that will pass. you don't want to be a nurse, or a teacher?" I bitterly laughed and said "No way!" which was indeed rude, but she/he was a nurse and their daughter was a teacher, so technically they were being quite rude, trying to inflict their personal opinions on careers on a 5th grader. plus, all they really cared about was money (not just them, the entire family) so they probably figured my chances are slim to none and should settle for being something more attainable.
So i guess I could say i need to make a billion dollars, and burn a million in their honor, because I'm a good person :]
My question is what do you want to be when you grow up and what was your opinion on the Academy Awards?
~sun

You are still my strongest memoryyy (a post about my strange obsession)

Greetings Users~ (this psot may seem long but it's not really)
(see, i called you a user today. im feeling nice. in case you don't know what a use or a program is, go watch tron. or not. a user is a good thing.)
So I come to you today to talk about one of my strange obsessions and fascinations.
its....*dundundun* Titanic.
Not in the normal way, though. Where as most people will watch the movie once every few years on hbo and talk about how cute Leonardo DiCaprio was, i've taken it to the next level. Are you prepared?
So Titanic is my favorite movie of all time. I've seen like over 6 times, which means i've probably spent over 24 hours watching it as a whole, or just replaying scenes.. Leonardo DiCaprio has become my favorite actor mainly because of his role as Jack in the movie, I freak out whenever I see Kate Winslet's name in the opening credits of any film, and my ringtone is my heart will go on. yeah, i know.
but it doesn't end there. i've traveled to 2 Titanic exhibits, one not to far in Orlando Florida and one across the country in Las Vegas. My favorite section is the gift shop, because u cant buy titanic mechandise just anywhere. IN FACT, you all know that im super cheap, but in the LV Exhibit, there were two titanic shirts, one 14 dolalrs, one 20, and the only difference was the color. I bought the 20 dollar one because i wanted a good shirt. I WOULD NOT DO THAT FOR ANYTHING ELSE, EVEN HARRY POTTER.

I've practically studied the music of the film. I can play Hymn to the sea, and my heart will go on on piano. I also love Come Josephine in my Flying Machine, because jack and rose sing it in a deleted scene.
When I'm bored i look up facts on titanic, and i probably know more about the film and ship than anyone you know. to prove that i'll include a random titanic fact at the end of each post from now on until I run out (nevarr!)
for my most recent birthday, the theme was movies, and I wanted to dress up as Rose, but didn't have time to make the costume. Every time i go to a jewelry store, I look for a necklace liek the Heart of the Ocean.
I have an art folder of my favorite drawings i've done. I have 3 so far, all about Titanic. When I sketched an image of the actual ship I recognized some of the areas. And i'm pretty sure not a day goes by without me making some sort of titanic quote or reference, i.e when someone says "come back" i reply "there's a boat jack" or most recently, i heard the name andrew on tv and said "mr. andrews! aren't you even going to try?""no rose, there's nothing out there for me".
I have a blank space on my wall i'm waiting to fill with a titanic poster when i get one.
I have a game on my ipod called titanic: the expedition. Basically, you find the hidden or lost items on "titanic" within a time frame, except the rooms look nothing like the real rooms and the items are things like Banjo or pencil eraser, but its fun.
I'm auditioning for showchoir thursday, Wish me luck. I'm singing my heart will go on, as you may have guessed.

Do you have any weird obsessions?
~Sun
titanic fact: Titanic was never called Unsinkable. In an article in shipbuilder magazine form 1911, an engineer said "with the watertight compartments sealed, the ship is practically unsinkable" this quote has been taken out of context, as you can see.

Its Presidents day...i think (a post about school)

Greetings~
So its a long a weekend, and i had a party saturday, so ive basically had two lazy days in a row, which makes me feel like a fat old man.
Anyways i woke up relatively early and got to catch up on bad television and film. I saw When In Rome on hbo or something, it was terrible. I felt like dying when it was over. Wait, its more like, i wanted to die when it was over. Im soo glad i didn't go to the cinema to see that. the plot was weak and it was soooo corny.
then i got to watch some big time rush. big time rush is...interesting. I don't know if its the fact that i question the boys' sexuality, or that the acting is worse than that of the naked brother band, but the show isn't exactly good. None the less, when has the quality of a show ever stopped me from watching before?
So i saw about 2 or 3 episodes, and it was entertaining enough. The music is okay, which is all i can ask for. Maybe i've just been watching too much glee.
The whole point of this post is that I can watch a thousand episode of big time rush, and like 10 josh duhamel movies and still feel like im being more productive than in school. I mean, at least I learn from Kristen Bell's bad acting not what to do when i go to auditions, and big time rush and teach me about realistic set layout (i visited their set last summer and the whole pool area is fake. the plants are plastic!) And in school, i learn...the capital of Cameroon. i've kind of lost a lot of motivation for my school due to its consistancy of disappointing me. This is perhaps the main reason why im going to work hard to find a private school or get my mom to move to california. But the chances of that are slim to none.
SO my question today is, what's ur school like?

A year ago today (a post)

Greetings Programs:]
So,a year ago today my dad died. Valentines Day is a really strange holiday for many reasons. One, is it really a holiday? I mean we go to school, its not religious, most people hate it, chocolate hearts don't count as gifts, and the multiple cards printed for valentine's day include ones with Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber's face on them. What have they really done to be on a card? Have good hair? Do we really need a holiday celebrating good hair? And i don't mean good hair the movie, which was phenomenal. Moving on,
the grammys have declined because music has declined. Now, I don't like Lady Gaga, but when she sung a preview of born this way at the VMA's it sounded pretty good. very ballad-like and you can almost hear the slow piano in the background. WTH did she do at the grammys? It looked like part of her high school dance team's recital or something. The song was catchy, but lame, and the outfits were just "ehh" not wow or gross but just "Ehh". She didn't even get a standing applause. I will even admit that the best performance was Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, and Usher. That was awesome. And seeing Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith cheering him on was adorable!
My main question about the grammys was who invited the muppets? I know muppets make everything better, and it was almost too cute, but why were they there?
Anywhom, happy valentine's day. You are all my Valentines whether you want to be or not. Prepare to take to Chipotle while I rock out to the plain white t's in my unwashed hair telling you how much I wish Harry Potter was my boyfriend.
Peace.
~Sun

A zombie double rainbow(a post about something I must admit)

Greetings.
I have a lot of obsessions. When it comes to being a fan of something, I can't just be a normal fan. I have to either love it or hate it, and even when I hate something I become obsessed with it. I.e the dark is rising is singlehandledly the worst book I've ever read, yet hardly a day goes by When i dont make A dark is rising joke.
My obsessive fan personality prob started around 3rd grade when I saw high school musical. I loved it immediately and from there went on to love Hannah Montana and all those girly things you guys won't understand.
Recently, as everyone And their mum knows im obsessed with Harry potter. In fact in science someone left a scarf that looked like a gryffindor scarf and the entire class said it was mine( I was offended bc the scarf was cheap looking and my gryffy scarf is much nicer)
Now, i've become obsessed with glee. don't mock me. and super hero movies. oh yeahh.
What are your obsessions?
~Sun

I've boldly gone where no man has gone before (a post about the weird thigns i've done)

greetings programs.
Today, i come to you with a story. About my awkwardness.
A few years ago, my old school went on a trip to sea world for like 112 dollars. Now, being as young as I was I was all "yo thats a lotta money, foo'" maybe worded differently. Anyways, I didn't like rollercoasters at the time and I didn't like fish either, I also didn't like annoying preppy girls so me and my best friend opted out. Our other best friend "J" was going to opt out with us. We were supposed to hang out together and fight the rules that all girls must giggle and like attention, school trips, and the color pink. However, J decided that she was going on the trip. yeah, i know.
Now, the remaining two nerds said we could use 112 dollars and do something 112 times as awesome. So here's what we did:
We went shopping. I bought a book. (an epic book [paper towns] but still). But that's not the nerdiest thing.
Whenever people ask me what I did on that trip I must say "Oh, I didn't want to go to sea world. I went to see Star Trek:2009 instead." yeah. don't judge.
So, move ahead a few years and my new school is going on a trip to sea world! Joy, right? Except, it was still pretty pricey, I still don't like fish, but I do enjoy the color pink and rollercoasters. However all those preppy girls have now become preppy teenagers, whom I still have nothing in common with.
So I opted out...again...this time on my own.
Too bad the Star Trek sequel wont come out till next year.
I come to you followers and fellow bloggers asking for your suggestions, What do I do this time??
I swear if the next school I attend has a trip to sea world, shamoo is gonna explode, courtesy of yours truly. (however I'm considering home schooling or online, but thats besides the point.)
~Sun :]
ps. do you like fish? I only like to eat them I know, I'm a terrible person.

I don't want to be here (a post about really awkward moments)

(replies to comments, feel free to skip to non-italics if u don't care, love :]
@that blond guy- Unstoppable looked cool, but i didn't have any money to go to the theater :/ I love chris pine! Star trek :2009 was brilliant.
@nicolas- true grit?? ehh that looked alright. I couldn't tell what the plot was from the trailer, so i'm out. :]
@hikari- haha tron was cool. Something fun to obsess over. I LOVED the grid.)
Today was an awkward day.
don't get me wrong, it was quite fun. It was a half day at school and I really enjoy those because we don't do anything important.
But I did get trapped in a situation I would rather not get trapped in.
Shall we begin?
So, apparently I take really good notes. Most kids in my class just use plain bullets and scribble down every other word, but I use the adorable bubble format and highlight everything so it's all colorful. In fact, I got a 100% on an assignment which I studied for using just my notes. Booyah? I agree.
Anyways there is a kid in my class that doesn't do any work or pay any attention. I'm in all utlra advanced classes, so all the kids I'm with throughout the day, are bright, but some can be really lazy. This is one of those kids.
So my teacher decides that my notes would be good for the kid to copy (aww shucks :]) cuz im all smarty pants and crud, but the kid barely pays attention to her. So all the other kids leave to go to lunch, I am told to stay in the room, and it soon becomes 3 people. The teacher, the kid, and me. awkward..
But that's not the worst part. She begins to scold the kid in that awkward teacher way. And talking to them about their schoolwork and stuff I really don't need to be hearing. So i am left to awkwardly fumble with my pens and my partner's notebook, pretending i don't know what's going on.
Anyway, she goes to get something and let them copy my colorful notes, and they just walk out. Leaving me alone with a frustrated teacher. yay.
So, because I'm already late for lunch, I have to walk with my teacher, whom normally walks with another teacher. When teacher #2 asks her what happens she says "oh I had problems with a student" and the teacher just kind of looks at me and laughs like "Of course, the girl with the harry potter lanyard and the marvel superhero jacket. typical" fortunately, my teacher says "not this lovely young lady" umm...thanks?
So we're left to walk awkwardly to lunch, making small talk. However I'm not good with small talk because I don't watch the weather channel, have any pets, or a slightly interesting life to ramble about. All I have is my marvel jacket and lunch of thai food. Cool right?
So yeah, this is just one example of awkward situations I get caught in. I'd like to thank my lovely friends for leaving me alone in the class room. *shiver *
-Sun

(so i was going to compare some music today, but i really don't wanna torture myself with the junk on Y100. I've been through enough today :])

That's One Big Door! (a post about Tron)

(this is a review post. I reccomend reading it and telling me if it was helpful or cool, but its up to you. If not, skip to the bottom and answer the question of the post. I'll reply to them next time. :])
Greetings programs!
Today I saw Tron: Legacy, which I really want to talk about. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't fantastic. Here's why: (ps, i must add that i bolded the headings so u can just skim thru what u want to read, or skip to the end to answer the question)FIRST: GRAPHICS Visually, it was stunning. Perhaps even better than Avatar, which was visually great. The whole video game world of the grid and all the costumes and sets were so excellent, and really made the movie. It seemed like you were in some digital world, not just a video game or computer etc. The whole world is pretty dark. There aren't many light sources, and most of the floors/walls/buildings are black and blue, so the beam of light that run through the glass add an extra effect. (that's a trick I learned from tim burton :])
SECOND: MUSIC the music was amazing. Daft Punk composed the score (they're an electronic music duo im sure you've heard of even if u don't listen to it) and it's really good. I was expecting corny 8bt music like the crud you here in pacman and old pokemon games, but it was really futuristic. And not even futuristic in the sense that it used a ton of computer sounds. It was all basic sounds that together worked perfectly. The songs play even when the characters are in our world, which really sets the tone. The score helps transport you into the world of Tron, similar to the way the score of Titanic makes you feel like you're in 1912, or the Harry Potter music has a sort of magical ring to it. If I ever got lost in an electronic world, these are the sounds I could imagine hearing.
THIRD: PLOT The plot was kind of weak, I admit. Now-a-days, to find an interesting and unused plot is hard. We mainly see the same story told a thousand different ways. So yeah, Tron: Legacy was predictable, but not bad. It had a lot of new concepts I'd never heard of (like the disc. They can use it to fight, but its also kind of like their database). Programs and Users is a typical fight between two different groups, but I do like the way it was told. Overall, it was realistic, which is all we can ask for. If you're not interested in the plot, go see it while its still out for the music and visuals. I guarantee they're sweet.
FOURTH: ISSUES now the plot was good enough, and I didn't have too many issues, but there were some. For instance; when Sam(the main guy) sees his father again. WTH was that? IF my dad suddenly showed up in some whacked out digital world after 20 years i'd be so pissed. I understand the whole longing to see him thing, and maybe I'd so the same thing as Sam, but there was a point when his dad walked away, and Sam just stood there without any answers. I fosho would have chased after him, as anyone would.
Also, the relationship between Sam and Quorra was odd. I was expecting it to be a sort of romantic thing, and I'm not sure what it was. It seemed like they never really knew each other too well, and I'm still confused on whether he liked her or not.
LASTLY: the ending. It was bad. The whole movie is about a digital worlds and yet they end on a motorcycle in our world staring a the sun. Something cooler could have happened.
But i'm not complaining. The movie was entertaining, and pretty cool. It won't be out much longer, so go see it while you can, or wait till DVD. I saw it in 2d tho i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it more in 3d, however 3d is expensive, so only go if u have the money.
QUESTIONS: 1. What's the last movie you saw in theaters and was it good? 2. Do you think Hollywood has made so many and too many lame movies that they have begun to reuse the same plots, or have we run out of ideas? 3. What's the most original movie you've seen that has come out in the last 10 years (not based on a book or anything like that)?
oh and most importantly, did you see Tron? What did you think? did you not see it? was my review helpful?
I know, alot of questions. deal with it. love you. bye.
~sun :]
PS no music comparison this time because this post is sooo long, but next time I'll have something. I don't know what any of the songs sound like, and I don't listen to them, so I have to wiki everything.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://polishedwithdust.blogspot.com/2011/01/thats-one-big-door-post-about-tron.html' title='That's One Big Door! Less "I'm sick and why does Hannah Montana have to end" and more "why are we so attached to shows we used to watch, even if we don't like them anymore" ya know? So im going to respond to comments (if u dont want 2 read, skip to the non-italic section)
@rainborevolver, thank you! And i'm kind of learning the same thing~ It will probably take a little while to accept the whole reach out vulnerability thing
@Nicolas haha! yeah, get better combacks. @that blond guy, thank you, but my family is doing alot better now. However, sometimes we'll still feel sad, but its normal. @Hikari i think everyone struggles with being too judgemental, but it shall come with time :] @dancing toast, aww thanks!but we are sisters. we look exactly the same, remember? :] @Sharkie, thank you so much! happy new year to you as well
Onto the post:
I was talking to a girl "tiffany" (name has been changed) I know and saying how awesome Michael Jackson's music is, and how basically everyone can enjoy his and The Beatle's music, but she responded "Eww! I hate Michael Jackson AND the beatles!" so i just stared at her and said "How? What music do you like?" to which Tiffany said "the stuff that plays on Y100." i was kind of in shock. I can understand not liking MJ and liking the beatles, or the other way around, but both?? Their music has meaning, and originality. So, at the end of the next couple of posts, i am going to compare some of their songs to some of the songs on y100 (i have to look up Y100 songs cuz i dont know any :])
*ehem* starting with lyrics that describe bullying, or making rumors just for the sake of it
Today: "We r who we r"We are who we are, We’re dancing like we’re dumb, Our bodies go numb, We’ll be forever young
Oldies: "wanna be starting something (MJ): its too high to get over, and too low to get under, you're stuck in the middle, and the pain is thunder
QUESTION: which lyrics do you relate to most? Which is better in your opinion?
~Sun :]

Flashback Sequence (a post about all the things I've been through)

(this is a more emotional, look back on all that's happened post. I reccomend you read it, but it's up to you)
So, were 3 days into 2011. I have a new years resolution, but i wont be sharing it this post because I want to type about other things.
2010 was without a doubt one of the worst and best years ever. I can't decide. I've had terrible family and excellent friends, things I wish I could erase from my mind and things I never want to forget, all in all just a ton of new experiences.
Now, I'm not whining about 2010, I've literally been through so much I don't know what to conclude of it all. I went from being a regular kid with no issues to suddenly being thrown into some alternate universe.
Everything from losing my father to going on an epic adventure with one of my best friends to Los Angeles. Seriously, I don't know how I survived.

The loss of a parent is hard, but if you surround yourself with good friends, you'll get through it. And traveling across the country is so much fun that you find yourself never wanting to come home, but when you think of all the great friends back home, you want to come straight back to tell your stories.
I repeat, i dont know how I survived. there were those 2 or 3 weeks after the tragedy when I was kind of lost, to those 2 or 3 weeks when I was roaming the west coast, having fun getting lost. With all of these experiences, i can start the new year having learned 3 basic things
1. Somtimes, bad things happen to good people.
2. All good things must come to an end.
3. Change and new beginnings are exciting.
But I'm still a teen going through all the annoying emotional crud being a teen comes with. Sometimes I feel like I'm the same super and almost concerningly shy kid I was when I was about 5-7. Sometimes, like im that super-geek I was a few years ago. But in reality, I'm still the same me i was last year, when i kind of found myself...just with a lot more knowledge and maturity.
Today, I discovered myself in first period, laughing over stupid jokes with my long-term best friend. I also found myself in 6th period giving advice to newer friend, and somewhere in between planning a video for a contest with my fellow nerd, who was one of my only 4 friends during my super-geek period. (I like to make friends I know I will have for a long time. one, I've know half of my life!) What I've learned is that people will change. Their personalities will differ, they'll style will differ, and it may seem as if all of them is different. But even with everything we go through, our hearts never change. I've learned to move on forward, but never let go. Never let go of all those good memories you have, and keep creating new ones.
if there is anything I know for sure, it's that time keeps on going, even when you beg and scream for it stop, even when tragedy strikes, even when you never want something to end, the clock will tick. the hands will move forward, and so will you.
~sun
ps. tell me what you've learned this past year. :]

The worst year possible is finally over

happy new years.
~relieved sun
(for a real post, read the post below :])

Harry Potter Film Wizardry

Starting with replies to comments:
@ThatBlondGuy, omg noo! He can't leave 30 rock! :[ but idk how men in black 3 will do. the actors r so much older now.
@Hikari, we should. I might do that tomorrow. :]
Now, to begin the post. Today I purchased a book called Haryy Potter Film Wizardry, which is basically one of those awesome behind-the-scnes books with pop-outs and memorabilia (i.e, harry's hogwarts letter, the maurauders map, etc). So to cheer you all up, im going to tell an epic tale of buying it.
The book costs $40. It's totally worth it, if u have the money. But the cashiere lady was so nice! We upgraded our rewards card at Borders to get 10% of all purchases, so she split our book buyings up into to. Here's how it worked:
4 or so books/dvds went into 1 purchase with the 10% dicsount.
and the upgrade came with a coupon booklet, so we payed again for the HP book with a $25 gift card, 10% off, and $10 off with a coupon. Overall, it cost about $3. yes three dollars. in the words of any proud american, BOOYAH!
i'm not finished with the book yet, its rly big. So I'll review it when I'm done and let ya know if its really worth $40. so far, it is
~Happy, cheapo sun

Christmas Trees and Burning Bushes ( a post about tv shows)

So my neighbor has lights in the trees of their yard, except only one lights up. And we call it the burning bush.
"Happy Holidays...is what terrorists say. Merry Christmas -Jack and Avery."

So Jack & Avery are characters from my favorite show, 30 Rock. It's kind of like an adult's Sonny With A Chance, but loosely based on Tina Fey's life while working on SNL. It follows the lives of the writers and cast of an SNL-like show called TGS With Tracy Morgan that's produced by NBC. Now, unfortunately TGS With Tracy Morgan isn't real, but 30 Rock and NBC are. Obviously (there's a rapist in Linkin Park) Nbc is a major Tv network, and 30 Rockefeller Plaza is the building of the production offices. In the show, it's where TGS is written and filmed.

I love this show because the characters and storyline is really smart and funny. (The cast of 30 rock is Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Jordan, and more) It's so unpredictable and original(instead of focusing on the glamorous life of famous stars as most shows do, the main characters are really the behind-the-scenes people, i.e the head writers, the executive, etc. However the show is really more about their personal lives, problems and friendship than it is about TGS) The show is already in its fifth season, and has been greenlighted for a sixth, so I recommend you rent the first seasons and watch the new episodes. If you do watch it, who are your fav characters? Mine are Kenneth and Jack.

My second favorite show is Modern Family, which follows 3 messed up families that are somehow related. I really like this because the families are really different. There's a typical American white-hispanic family, an old guy with his young, hot hispanic wife, and a gay couple. That being said, I think you can already figure out how witty this show is. There's really nothing to compare it to. If you watch Modern Family, who is your favorite family?? I choose Mitch and Cameron, the gay ones. They are so great together, and Lily is the cutest baby alive!!
If you don't watch Modern Family or 30 Rock, then start watching Modern Family or 30 Rock, and tell me what your favorite show is.

BTW, my 3rd fav show is Oprah.
~Sun

Life is my creation

"life is my creation, is my best friend. It was amazing. EVERYONE was so nice and happy! I got to meet Shane Dawson, Ryan Higa, Davedays, Hank and John Green, Britanni Louise Taylor, Michael Buckley, David Choi, Stephen Byrne (3sixty5days), Charlie Mcdonnel, Alex Day, and a butt ton more. It was so cool and the hotel was all fancy and packed with nerds.
So I repeat, what ru doing/ want to be doing for vacation?? No exaggeration.
On the bright side, being sick allows me to be a more active blogger. I'm getting back into commenting on the blogs I follow, and posting actually semi-interesting stuff.
But Im still sick. And this Friday I go on vacation. Hopefully I can just sleep for like 3 hours now, and be better by tomorrow.
FUNNY AND TERRIBLY GROSS STORY FOR ME BUT YOU WILL PROBABLY LAUGH AT MY PAIN AND CAPS LOCK IS SCARY: My mom went out late last night to get nighttime cold medicine, and my sister had to wake me up to take it. So she comes into the room with the little cup thing filled with red thick liquid, resembling hot pink blood. I dip my tongue into it to taste it and immediately I feel as if I'm drinking cherry scented nail polish. Now, most girls will know or be able to imagine what nail polish smells/tastes like, but for you guys: it's not pleasant.
So I wait like 5 minutes just staring at it and shaking my head like I'm Dumbledore in the half-blood prince movie and my sister is like Harry just saying "Ok, i know it tastes bad, but when I say gulp just drink it all at once" You know how liquid medicine comes with that clear cup that actually holds alot of stuff, yeah it was filled to the top.
Being the brave and noble Gryffindor I am, I decide the pink nail polish blood is what's best, and I need to be healthy for vacation, so I do as my sister says.
And I throw up.
Kind of. It reached the back of my mouth and suddenly something else is coming up, so I spit the medicine out and drink water as if my life depends on it, trying not to puke all over my room. I am successful!! But the medicine made me puke. EWWW.
Now here's the terrible part. All along, my mom had some nice tasting flavored cold pills that she also bought, but they decided the liquid was better because it would work faster. When I lose my whiteout, or eraser, or pen etc. Losing school supplies is perhaps the one littler thing that irks me the most.
2. When some one starts off a sentence wiht "no offense, but..." if you know it's going to offend someone, dont say it! Plus, "no offense" in no way lessens the offence taken!
3. Teachers and their ideas of violence or inappropriateness (is that a word) I mean seriously, authority figures, this is 2010. We live in a time when Shane Dawson, the king of inappropriate jokes and rude humor, is a household name. (he's really nice in person, btw.) And everyone knows the Hide Yo' Kids song! ALSO, I don't curse. But I know lots of people who do, aka I don't know anyone else who doesn't :]. I dont really find it offensive (well those stupid kids who drop an f-bomb after every word are surely annoying) Come on teachers, grow up. Most parents don't even have an issue with it, and we're supposed to respect you for yelling? You will never earn our respect, but its cool, because the respect of teenagers isn't really that valuable.
4. Adults who imply that the internet is dangerous and if you give out the last letter in your name, you're going to get murdered. Yeah, okay there are child predators and rapists and hobknockers on the internet, but that doesn't mean that posting a vlog to Youtube or making a Facebook page is dangerous! Basic internet safety, coughcoughcommonsense is something any educated person on this generation is born with~
5. When it rains, and I really hope to see a double rainbow, and I don't. Yeah I hate that.

~Sun

Gfail.com; the next big thing

Ok so quick story because I'm on my iPod and it's too hard to type:
I was trying to log in to blogspot with my gmail via my itouch, but typing on this thing is hard! But I do want to be a director, so I noticed a lot of things in the movie that kind of failed.
Watching the deleted scenes, I realized that the director took out a lot of good things. Basically, all of them were things that were word-for-word from the book. The screenwriter basically changes up the entire dialoge and just keeps the plot(unlike in Harry Potter, where most of the lines are the same.) Now, I understand that things need to be changed, and quite frankly that's what makes film adaptations fun (if it was exactly the same, you might as well just save yourself some money and read the book). But there is a difference between good change and pointlessness.
One of the scenes he cut out was when Bella talks to one of her human friends and her friend says stuff like "Edward is only human" and "it's not life or death". It's funny and it kind of makes Bella more relateable. Why he took it out? I'll never know.
The author and crew said that they like to have a new director for each film so that they each get their own personal touch and what-not. This is a great idea in theory, but Twilight is a series. I think when you have too many directors, there is too much freedom to go crazy with the films. Think about it, when you watch Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse they dont look the same. You can tell there were multiple directors, something I'm not a fan of. The movies don't really blend like a series. (Coughcough, all of the potter films blend together well.)
Overall, it's an entertaining series, and it's a product of the ENTERTAINMENT Industry. So stop hating on Twilight, it does it's job.
However, if anyone even thinks about hating on Potter, you're gonna have to deal with me~
Love ya!
-Sun

Hello Friends

Okay, so here's the story about my bad blogging habit.
I always mean to blog once a week just to share my thoughts and hear everyone else's.
So I've been into making youtube videos, and it has quite consumed my time. But I'm really kind of excited to get blogging again because I got a new computer~
Anyways everytime I decide to reblog, I usually give my blog a make-over. This is because in the long time-span of being very actively involved in life (aka living on Facebook, youtube, and twitter. Also dreaming of and telling classmates I attend Hogwarts)I usually change a litte bit, meaning I can't really relate, nor do I like, the previous background I chose.
Note: I redone my blog 3 times.
So over December I will be getting back to blogging, probably redoing PWD, and trying to recreate that awesome enviornment of a few online pals talking about whatever comes to mind.
But bare with me, I've got a lame science fair project, a friend's video project, and vacation all packed into the last month of year, so my blogging may be really random :]
Oh, I also might change my name. Since I took an extremely long break my birthday has passed, ive become obsessed with piano covers, and well haha I guess nothing has changed. :]
But I do use a lot more smilies in my texts now:/ sry if that gets annoying.
Anyways, is anyone as sappy about the deathly hallows trailer as I am? I mean, it looks epic. The effects have never been better, Harry's pretty hot, and it looks similar to the book, but I cant help but think "This Is It". I mean, I've only become obsessed with Harry Potter for like 2 or 3 years now, but i've become deeply obsessed. To the point where every time I'm absent from school I say I was at Hogwarts and had a problem with my time turner. Or when teachers ask what I want to be when I grow up I immediately think "wizard". Or where i spend money on wizard wrock songs and sing nothing but them. Harry Potter is a part of practically every nerdy kid's childhood in this generation, and to know that it's about to end is upsetting. I know it's only part 1, and we've still got a whole other movie, but what about after the movie? Then what do I wait for? Twilight??
Apart from sappiness, I've also got expectations. I know expectations for a movie are bad because 9 times out out 10 you are disappointed, but come on. This is the the 2nd to last part of the series. If this movie is as bad as the HBP we will revolt. Most of the viewers have followed him for 13 years, and he deserves better then a 3 star film that's too long and sad. (SPOILER ALERT, THEY ALL DIE! hehejk)
So, harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 midnight premiere...who else is going? :]

Cuz We Rock..We Rock, We Rock On!

So i had a camp rock 2 party this weekend, and it was awesome. The movie was actually good, but i like to jonas brothers. I really dont see why people go all hater on them, they seem like regular, smart people.
But then, im the person that likes Nat Wolff and the jonas brothers and doesn't like Lady Gaga. I really don't see the appeal. She's not the best singer and her songs are okay, but not great. Whenever i tell people that they always say "Its not about the music, its the art" or "you just don't understand" and they're right, I don't understand. If you want to watch art, go see independent movies or museums, but when i listen to music i want it to be about the lyrics and the tune. Not about how crazy the video is or the costumes are. What do you all think?
Onto a totally different topic, ABC Family. aaah, i love this channel. they have the worst original shows. and they always show really random movies at really random times. Like this weekend, for labor day, they're having a "very special musical event..the sound of music." Seriously? Okay, let me try to write this in a letter form.
Dear ABC Family,
Are you kidding me? You got the rights to show the sound of music and now you wont stop. It seems like every other long weekend or holiday you try to advertise your showing of The Sound of music as special. You show this movie so much its special when you DONT show it.
And what's up with all these terrible movies you've been showing? Get some rights to nice entertainment, and take the Secret Life off air. It's stupid.
Sincerely,
Sunshine.
Hmm? what do you think of abc family? So i primarily watch great crud like Jonas L.A and Hannah Montana and Sonny With A Chance because it's always on and easy to follow. But i've followed iCarly for a while.
But i've just gotten into the show 30 Rock. it's brilliant. I love it. If you watch it tell me who ur fav character is. I adore Kenneth!!! He's so sweet and adorable.
and yeah, i haven't done anything this week. excpet sleep. and dress up my sister as princess leia from star wars.
Ive been so tired lately. I have circles under my eyes that make me look like i take crack or something. (I DONT! I JUST DONT SLEEP ENOUGH)
so, how has ur summer been? when do u go back to school? i go back in a little bit longer than a week. it sucks. alot. raaaaaaawwwwwrrrr
~Sun

Percy Jackson and the whowhatnows??

okay so, i saw the Percy Jackson movie yesterday. it was...dotdotdot.
Weird and not that great. What was up with his half-goat friend? i mean goat legs? how is it humanly possible to be half-goat? And i know, its not really possible to be Poseidon's son etc, but half goat was just weird.
Percy could have (should have) been alot hotter (im just sayin') and I don't really get why he wasn't super super upset when he thought his mother died.
Overall, it was okay. I didn't read any of the books. honestly, i don't think i can after seeing the film. But I appreciate the film more because of the movie i saw today
Angels and Demons. It was...kinda boring in some parts. Like i dont really care if this weirdo is shooting every priest and their mother in the world, just get to a plot. It was really bloody and kinda gross. And i dozed off a few times in the beginning. Overall, okay film. not the best.
And now u can see what i've done with my life since I've been back home. Watch movies.
oh, and to answer ur q blond guy, leo did get kinda chubby a few year ago. it was pretty ugly. but all is well cuz he is gorgeous again!
Anyways I saw this AMAZING!!!!old disney channel movie on TV the other night. idk if i already talked about it or not. Its called Going To The Mat. its from like 2004. its about this blind kid that is a great musician but wants to fit in at his new school so joins wrestling. I dont like wrestling but it was hot blind guy vs ugly jock so I was like "i can deal with it" lol. The story was fantastic and the acting was lovely. It brings me back to the days where I can say "That disney channel movie was great" instead of having to make excuses or just straight out find a new DCOM(disney channel original movie) bad.
Q: does anyone remember the DCOM The Color Of Friendship. its beautiful. it deals with racial issues without being too harsh or boring or sad.
~Sunshine
PS: What's ur top 3 (or 2 or 1) fav DCOM. mine are (in no particular order) 1.High School Musical(<3) 2. Going To The Mat 3. hmm...I have several. I'll have to make an entire post about DCOMs soon to fill ya'll in. The old ones are really really good, so go check out the wikipedia list and check some of them out.
pss(camp rock..untill i go remember all the old ones. then i'll have like top 10 ill post about)

So i didnt post on vacation

but i was really busy!
Normally vacations are for R&R, but right now i feel like i could sleep for a year.
I hate time changes!
anywhom vidcon was amazing and i went to disneyland and universal and studio tours blahblahblah. but im back now.
And where i live the school year is really long, so i only have like 3 weeks left of summer :[ so i'm going to enjoy it as much as i can.
While on vacation i saw inception with my cousin. It was excellent. Did anyone see it? I absolutely loved it! It was kinda long and at 15 minutes could have probably been cut out, but i liked it none-the-less. Leo is skinny again!! Yaya he looks good. I love Leonardo DiCaprio, so by default I'd like inception, but i actually enjoyed the plot alot!
so since i feel like i could sleep for a long time, i am going to leave you all, but i should be back soon.
~Sunshine

Omg A Couple Of Days

So today im very tired. but if I weren't very tired I'd be very excited.
because only lyk 4 days till I leave. I'll try to blog on vacation.
DEATHLY HALLOWS TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EC2tmFVNNE
^go watch that everyone. its amazing^
So it looks like its kept close to the book, which is nice.
I saw eclipse the other day, and it was excellent. The best in the series. The acting was pretty good, the effects rocked, the story was great. The only thing I didn't like was the new Victoria. Her acting was fine, but I like the old Victoria better. This 1 wasn't scary, wasn't as pretty, and didn't have the same vibe the other one did. but Seth was adorable!
So overall, it was a great movie. I can go into details about the directing, producing, acting, editing, etc. But I don't think that's what a film is about. It's about everyone working together to make something great. It's a very collaborative process, and you cant judge one person individually for their work, because without everyone else, its nothing.
SO im still tired. byebye
~Sun

Before Vacation!

So only a few days before I go on vacation to L.A, Los Vegas, and Arizona with my sister, mom, and 1 of my best friends.
To findingmuse: I love Davedays! his vids are so funny. and HP park is the harry potter park. WWOHP as i should say. It looks fantastic!
So did anyone see the Deathly Hallows full trailer? It looks absolutely amazing. I'm pretty pleased with the trailer, because the 6th movie was okay, but this one looks better.
ONTO LAME STUFF
Jonas L.A keeps getting better each week. It's pretty much like a giant fanfiction. With romance, drama, comedy, and music. I love it alot. I'm sorry I've become so incredibly dorky. I can't help it. I love dramatic shows/movies/books. And Jonas L.A is just perfect.
I'm going to VidCon! fun.
and hmm lemme think. Eclipse premiered today. I hope breaking dawn will be good. the book wasn't that amazing.
Let me know how your summer is going!
~Sunshine

Its The Girl Who Forgets To Post

Yeah sorry.
Okay, 1 thing really sucks. Hannah Montana Forever is premiering when I'll be away! RAWR! I'll have to catch up when I get back. And yes, im excited for the season because its the last season, and i luved HM when i was younger, and its getting better.
One of disney's best shows ever is probably suite life on deck. At first i thought another show for the series would be too much, but its actually really funny.
And Jonas L.A tomorrow yaya! And Sonyn With a chance i think<3
So you're probably thinking, i followed this girls blog because she never talked about Disney, so now I'll talk about something else.
HP Park opened yesterday. AWESOME!!! I'm so going this summer. Or some break we have. Because it seems awesome.
And Eclipse premiers in a a little over a week. That's cool. I mean seriously, Jonas L.A, Camp Rock 2? What could be better??
I'm kidding. Kind of..
I wanna see Hannah Montana Forever. I loved HM so much when i was in elementary school, I really hope they end it well. Just like something else I love...harry potter. I'm not excited for HP7 cuz HP6 was disappointing.
But i've found a new obsession!
So yesterday I had nothing to do at all. And instead of doing nothing, i decided to watch a movie. Well I ended up watching 3 movies, completing the X-Men Series. and now im a fangirl.
CYCLOPS<333
I mean i luv it so much i actually think Rogue is a nice name now.
SO yeah, if you haven't seen xmen and u like action movies, then go watch it. right now. I've been doing a lot of filming lately. its been pretty epic, but tiring. And guess what I have tomorrow? Filming and editting. Filming and editing a music video or vlog is fun, because there is no dead line and i can take two days to edit. But project suck. Because they always stress me out. Which is probably why I get sick alot.
Anywhom, onto fun stuff...i dont really know.
I don't watch much TV. Actually thats a lie. I watch TV, but only crud like E!, TLC, Disney. Wedding Shows are lovely. Say Yes To The Dress is my favorite.
I haven't been following any sitcoms or shows. I used to follow secret life, but then it got soo bad I gave up.
Okay so all my posts have been fail lately, and it sucks because I'm always to tired to just type. I can't wait for the first month of summer, when I get to sleep in late, watch A Haunting in the afternoons, and stay up late reading fanfiction and Nicolas Sparks novels.
And in case anyone remembers my old blog posts, you remember that I hate gym with a passion. WIN! i also wrote "this is not my hand" on my hand. But then i also wrote "I must not tell lies" on the top of my right hand. HP!
I haven't read an HP book this year. I dont want to become extremely obsessed. I'm fighting the addiction. I'll wait till summer/the next movie.
I haven't read a fanfic in a while. I personally love to read James/Lily fanfiction. I can honestly recommend alot of good ones. I need to get back into fanfiction...
I wish you could read fanfic in class. 'Cuz i could care less about bears and spiders and whatever informational junk we learn, and more about the untold love story of Harry's Parents. The guy on the cover is having some sort of dance party spazz attack. he's like jumping and has his arms in the air. SO i was like "Whoa hold up!" It's CAFFEINE FREE COLA! Shouldn't the figure on the front be calm? There's no caffeine! Why is he crazy! The same guy is on the regular cola too. WTH? Shouldn't the regular cola man be crazy and the caffeine free guy be like sitting on a bench reading a book? eh
As for the HP amusement park, yeah I dont wanna go for the opening because it will be swarmed with people from all over the U.S and the UK. So yeah, we're gonna wait a bit.
5 things you didn't know about me:
1. I have a New Moon Calender. This month is Laurent. 2. I play piano very well. I've never had an in person lesson. I learned off youtube. 3. I think cupcake are prettier than muffins. 4. I dressed up as Hannah Montana one year for Halloween. 5. Tim Burton is my favorite director.
HERE'S A RANDOM STATEMENT!
Iron 2 Man comes out soon. What's up with the title for Iron Man 2?!?! It is written as IRON 2 MAN. Looking For Alaska by John Greenand Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
i haven't read any part of either of them yet, but i look forward to tomorrow.
SO we only have a little over a month left of school here and its exciting because in summer I'll be at Vidcon, a big youtube conference in L.A. And Im going to the Harry Potter park in Orlando FL. So that should be great.
Onto something that brings out the creativity in all of us, Theme Parks. I love that Harry Potter is being made into a theme park section because it brings the magic to life. But what if a bunch of other books had theme parks?
Like Twilight? It would just be a bunch of forests and fog. What would the ride be? Going really fast on a human through the trees? What would The Last Song be? Nothing. It'd be like a beach. And stuff.
One thing I really wish was real was Camp Rock, because I'd totally enroll. It seems like fun to go to a musical camp for the entire summer. I wouldn't mind if the celebrity instructor was like Matt Dog aka Nat Wolff. lol.
But that's the reason Harry Potter depresses me. Not because Harry's parents die, Not because Snape killed Dumbledore, because Hogwarts isn't real. or my letter got lost :[
So until my letter comes to me, I'm stuck reading fanfiction about James and Lily, and listening to Wizard Wrock. sigh. I hope your weekend is splandifferous. or lovely. which ever works best for you.
~Sunshine

Blog Wars? WTH.

So when I was really sick at night i studied and watched Disney Channel movie. Well, I didn't study very well because I was absorbed in one of Disney's latest productions, Harriet The Spy: Blog Wars.
It seems like in this fictional Disney Film World the main character doesn't seem to know that there are sites like e-blogger and blogspot that allow you to make your own blog without having to fight for the school one which only reaches the school. So basic summing up of this movie : she stalks a celebrity, her nanny leaves, she wants to be popular, and she gets a blog. Wth.
Of all of Disney Channel's recent movies, I'd have to say my favorite is Star Struck, which also involves celebrity stalking.
Camp Rock had celebrity stalking. Stuck in the Suburbs had celebrity stalking.
I see a pattern -.-
As for all time fav DCOM; High School Musical.
onto real stuff...pshh who am I kidding I've got no real news.
I hate being sick. I feel so unhealthy. and I can't even truly clean out my room til I am healthy. Uhg.
Anyways I've got a test to study for so I shall leave you all until we meet again (probably Saturday)
~Red
PS: What's ur fav Disney Channel Movie? Do you have one? If not, what's your fav made-for-TV movie?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://polishedwithdust.blogspot.com/2010/04/blog-wars-wth.html' title='Blog Wars? Finally Free!

SO, out of boredom i made new PWD graphics, i redid the blog, and deleted all the old posts. So every rant, parody, joke, etc, is gone! It's time to start over.
This will be my only blog to free-write on and I'm going to try and just voice some thoughts every once in a while to
A. Make sure I don't go insane
B. Communicate with awesome people online
C. I enjoy blogging, but having 3 blogs and having to post once on each of them was NOT FUN.
So, I'd love to post right away, but I've got a history test to study for.
